Why Should Your Child Come to Pasadena?
State-of-the-art career and technical programs:
At Dr. Kirk Lewis Career and Technical High School (CTHS), students have the ability to choose from six career and technical education academies. Each academy is made up of subject-based pathways that are designed to give students the skills and experience they need to succeed in their chosen career path. Recently, CTHS students in the Audio and Video production pathway have collaborated with the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce and the City of Pasadena to produce a web series highlighting good news in Pasadena. Award-winning Fine Arts programs
Pasadena ISD has a tradition of excellence in the Fine Arts. In fact, for 14 consecutive years, Pasadena ISD has been named one of the Best Communities for Music Education and for the past three years, a Pasadena ISD student has been awarded Grand Champion at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo art show. Each of our schools offers unique ways for your student to express their creativity through programs like orchestra, band, choir, dance, musical theatre and much more!

Early College High Schools
Our Early College High Schools provide students with a seamless pathway from high school to college. Prior to starting high school, eighth-grade students have the opportunity to apply to join the program. While enrolled in ECHS, students take college-level courses, along with their high school classes. At the time of high school graduation, students will have the opportunity to graduate with a high school diploma and an Associate’s degree.
Harris County Promise
In a partnership with San Jacinto College and Good Reason Houston, seniors attending Dobie High School, Sam Rayburn High School and South Houston High School who become Promise Scholars will have the opportunity to receive up to three years of aid to San Jacinto College for tuition, fees and books through the Harris County Promise.
Low student to teacher ratios
Low student to teacher ratios provide your student with the personalized instruction they deserve- that’s why we are committed to keeping our student to teacher ratios below the state average.

Graduation rate of 89.9 percent
We care about our students and we are committed to seeing them succeed. One of the most important factors in determining the future success of our students is whether or not they graduate from high school. For this reason, we have worked diligently to improve our graduation rates and ensure our students have the tools they need to succeed.
